If you don't want to be inundated with junk email, avoid giving out your email address unnecessarily.

Create a hotmail email account or other online account to use when filling out web forms or giving out to people you don't know very well. This way, if you do receive junk mail/Spam, it will come to this address and not your main one.

Only give credit card details if you are sure you are on a secure Web Page (indicated by a small padlock icon)

Never send credit card details by email.

When choosing passwords, try not to make it too obvious. A combination of letters and numbers is the best option.

When using the back and forward buttons, save time by clicking the small arrow next to each button, it will list all the pages you have been to and will also let you go back up to 10 pages at a time.

When talking in chat rooms remember you don't know who you are talking to, they could be anyone.
